Neighborhood observations

Share what you observed.

SSCW collects neighborhood observations and concerns so information can be reviewed, compared with other reports, and connected with local patterns over time.

This form does not contact JSO or create a police report. It is not monitored for emergency response. If police response or an official report may be appropriate, contact JSO through the appropriate channel. Review SSCW's reporting guidance.

Observation intake

Describe what you saw, heard, or experienced.

You do not need to determine what an observation means. Specific details about location, time, behavior, and recurring activity are often more useful than conclusions.

Share a Neighborhood Observation or Concern

You may submit without providing your name or contact information. If you provide an email address, SSCW stores it separately from the observation and uses it only for SSCW follow-up.

Choose the category that best describes what you observed. It does not need to be exact.
Describe what actually happened or what you noticed. Include recurring activity, direction of travel, vehicle details, or other specific facts when relevant.
Did you contact JSO about this? This records what you report about your JSO contact. It does not independently verify that a call, report, or dispatch occurred.
Not sure whether the observation should also be reported to JSO? Review SSCW's reporting guidance.
Follow-up preference

Optional. Up to 5 JPG, PNG, or WebP images, 15 MB each. Images are used for review, comparison, and neighborhood pattern tracking.

How SSCW uses observations: Submitted observations are reviewed so SSCW can compare information, identify recurring patterns, and follow up when useful. Contact information is optional.
After you submit: You’ll be taken to a private status page for this observation. Use Copy private link or Share private link there if you want to return later. Your SSCW reference number by itself will not reopen the page.
If photos are included, processing and upload may take a few moments.

What happens next

SSCW compares observations and follows up when useful.

A single observation may not require action by itself. Related observations, JSO calls for service, incidents, or other information may later show that several separate reports are connected.

1

Receive

Your observation is recorded as submitted and assigned an SSCW reference number.

2

Review

SSCW can compare the observation with other information and record follow-up or actions taken.

3

Connect

When appropriate, related observations or official records can be linked without changing what you originally submitted.
